How Poople decides what counts
Poople's dictionary holds 3,898 four-letter words. It's built from ENABLE, the public-domain list behind many Scrabble-style games, plus a handful of modern words players expect (BLOG, MEME, NOOB, BOOP…). Every word in it is accepted when you type it.
- Everyday words (1,837 of them) are the only words used for start words, par, answers and hints.
- Rare words are accepted, but never shown by the game — using one can beat par.
- Not accepted: names and places (ADAM, ROME), abbreviations (ASAP, NASA), slang the dictionary doesn't list, and slurs.
- A few crude words are accepted when typed but kept out of hints and answers.
The rules are the same everywhere on the site: the daily Poople, Unlimited, the solver and every other mode.
